STD Carriers T-Shirts to Be Donated to Charity Next Week

Next week STD Carriers will be donating 95% of all remaining original "Click It Before You Stick It!" t-shirts to charity so they can be used to help clothe the homeless and other less fortunate people this winter. The donations will be made no later than Friday after which only a handful of extra-large "Click It Before You Stick It!" t-shirts will be available for sale and the others will be kept by the owner of STD Carriers as souvenirs or for possible promotional use.

Since launching the one of a kind original fashion line in late 2008 the "Click It Before You Stick It!" t-shirt was marketed primarily as an offensive joke t-shirt, but experienced dismal sales numbers. The failure of the product line has been attributed to the concept of STDs as an issue nobody would want stamped across their chest out of concern that potential partners might get the wrong idea and think that they might have a STD of some kind. That scenario is what separates "Click It Before You Stick It!" from other offensive t-shirts because most of those won’t leave the wearer wondering if they might someday find themselves saying something like "no baby, I swear I don’t have a STD I just thought the shirt was funny".

Is giving them to the homeless adding insult to injury? In 2009 N24 reporter Bjorn Winters asked the owner of STD Carriers if he actually wore those shirts in public and his answer was yes, but he made sure not to mention the fact that he only wore them as undershirts unless he were promoting the site. STD Carriers believes that every "Click It Before You Stick It!" t-shirt donated will give the homeless another
