This founding member of Three Dog Night contracted Hepatitis C from dirty needles and nearly died during rehab. In a 2007 interview he stated "my body was shot. I had 15 teeth, hepatitis C, (and) emphysema". Since becoming sober in 1991 he has turned his health around while releasing several new songs.
