Famous singer, former smack fiend, and occasional actress Marianne Faithfull was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 1995 according to news reports that she went public with her illness in 2007. She first became famous in the 1960s as a talented singer and the girlfriend of Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger. It was in the late 60s and early 70s that she began smoking weed and shooting up heroin. She never said so, but most speculate that she contracted the Hepatitis C virus by sharing needles with infected junkies like her friends Anita Pallenberg and Keith Richards.
After hitting rock bottom in early to mid 70s Marianne Faithfull and living on the streets strung out on heroin the early to mid 70s Faithfull eventually cleaned her life up after years of drug abuse and emotional problems. Despite her issues over the years she has continued to produce new music and play small parts in movies.
