Matthew and I were in a long term relationship--one that I thought was monogamous. When I got pregnant I came down with meningitis and found out I was HIV infected in November 2011. I was tested yearly by my OBGYN and was negative in June of 2011 when we were still using protection. We started trying to make a baby in August and stopped using safer sex practices. I confronted him when I found out I was HIV positive. He told me he had been tested for HIV but he lied to me. I found out that he was on the Down Low and having sex with men while I was at work. He frequents Craigslist, manhunt.net, and PJ Harveys in Laurel. He meets a lot of men online using the emails mcparrow@gmail.com or mcpop80@yahoo.com
He works in healthcare and met his ex-wife and I at the hospitals where we worked. He cheated on his ex-wife with men as well although I didn't find out until I approached her with my HIV status. He has sex with a lot of other men on the Down Low to help keep his secret of being gay/bi. The picture below is one he uses on his Craiglist ads.
