Broadway writer Dick Scanlan is best known for his work on the Tony Award winning play Thoroughly Modern Millie. In 2003 he told Out Smart Magazine that he was officially diagnosed with AIDS in 1992, but that an ex-boyfriend of his died from AIDS in 1988 and he knew that he had been infected since 1983 because of all the things he had done with his boyfriend over those years.

This profile has been updated to include a video of Dick Scanlan and Rene Scott discussing their play Whorl Inside a Loop. A new source has also been added since the old one stopped working.
