Welsh rugby start Gareth Thomas admitted that he is HIV positive in September of 2019. He said in a video that he was coming out as HIV positive because of the stigma associated with the disease. This is not the first time that Thomas has come out as something with a stigma. Over 10 years ago he came out as gay.

All this took place after the end of his career as a professional rugby player, so he does not have to worry about bleeding on anyone on the field.

While a professional rugby player in England was regarded as a legend of the sport. He played for over 15 years. In 2011 he broke his arm during a game and retired shortly afterwards.
