Noris Diaz Perez is a model from Puerto Rico better known as "La Taina." La Taina became famous in PR during the 2000s before becoming sick and retiring from television. In 2011 she announced that she is HIV positive. She blames HIV related illnesses and conditions for forcing her out of modeling and television. She became ill in 2006 and went to the hospital for a number of issues including headaches. The explanation for this seemingly healthy woman becoming ill with all sorts of things so suddenly was traced to HIV.
Taina is not well known outside of Puerto Rico. She has a small role in the movie Bad Boys II, but other than that pretty much everything she has ever done has been in Spanish.
