Danny C. Perry II of Nashville, Tennessee was sentenced to six years in prison for knowingly infecting a woman with HIV and failing to disclose his condition to her before having sex. According to police, Perry acted surprised when the woman contacted him in 2016 saying that she had tested positive for the HIV virus. She asked him if there was anything she should know about his medical history and he told her "no." According to the Nashville Police, Perry has been receiving treatment for HIV since at least 2009. At his sentencing one victim testified that she was infected as far back as 2003. Perry is believed to have exposed at least 19 women in the Nashville area to the virus.
Perry's sentence was the maximum sentence allowed under Tennessee law for knowingly infecting someone with HIV. After he is released he will be required to register as a sex offender. Prosecutors are looking for other victims and say that they will charge him if anyone else comes forward.
One of Perry's victims was author Marvelyn Brown. She testified at his sentencing hearing that he infected her with HIV in 2003. Brown has been featured in the Celebrities with STDs section of this website since 2009 for her work as an activist and best selling author. Brown admitted that Perry was the man that she referred to as Price Charming in her best selling book "The Naked Truth."
