Andy Ivan Bell, the lead singer of the group Erasure told MTV in 2004 that was diagnosed with HIV back in June of 1998. Erasure made it big back in the 1980s with pop music that attracted a cult following that has given them a fan base to this day. Some consider him to be an icon for the gay community.
